Being kind makes a difference (Nov 2025 edition)
TLC also operates a 24/7 ablution block from their Fiennes Street base, providing essential hygiene facilities for the homeless.
The grassroots and volunteer-driven organisation also host a Christmas Day “Long Table Lunch” that sees people that might otherwise be alone on the day, attend for a three-course meal and companionship.
Beyond these core services, TLC manages a thriving community garden, providing fresh produce to those facing food insecurity.
For Roz the award is recognition of the dedication of TLC’s volunteers and the support of groups sponsors and donors saying, “Without volunteers, our sponsors and supporters where would we be?”
Adding, “the most important things is to be kind as you don’t know what the other person is going through, but you can be kind”.
Roz has previously been recognized for her contributions to the community, having been named both Toodyay’s Citizen and Senior Citizen of the Year.
Her work has improved lives, given hope to cancer patients, dignity to homeless people and purpose to volunteers.
Roz continues to inspire others with her simple yet powerful message: “Be kind.”
