July 2025 edition – The pace may have slowed but the fire callouts continue

But as always, our crews rise to the occasion, showing the same commitment and teamwork no matter the weather.

Our new training officer, Bill Fletcher, hit the ground running by running training on maps,
tanks and egress tracks.

Once the theory was complete, it was time for practical with both trucks on the road.

We drove around the area, navigating between strategic tanks, hydrants and standpipes.

The training also included using radio features to help determine our location.

It was an informative session with participants learning something valuable that day.

Finally, to keep up with Coondle’s tradition of good times and good food, the day ended
with a barbecue.

The Emergency Services Dinner took place late May.

This yearly gathering is an opportunity for all emergency services personnel to meet and
enjoy social time outside our usual interactions.

Sincere thanks to Ian MacGregor (Toodyay VFRS Captain) for once again putting in the
effort to make this event a success.

Funded by a grant from Volunteer WA and LotteryWest, a crowd of 125 enjoyed a lovely
meal prepared by Toodyay Locals Care and served by Toodyay Netball Club.

Many thanks to Hokulani Farm in Coondle for providing the gorgeous florals that were
used as centrepieces, and to Shane MacGregor and Keavan French for their help in setting up the room.

To everyone who contributed behind the scenes, this event could not have happened
without your support.

We are all deeply appreciative of the time and effort you put it in and of course, thank you to all who attended. Your presence made the event truly special.

The Coondle team is always looking for new team members.

Being a member has many benefits, such as learning new skills, knowledge, giving back to
the community and meeting like minded people.

We meet every Friday from 5pm at the fire station located at 775 Bindi Bindi – Toodyay
Rd near the old wheat bins.

If you are unsure if firefighting is for you, you are more than welcome to come and see us or email coondle.nunilebfb@gmail.com.
